DEFENDER: New Song Available For Streaming
December 26, 2011"Don't Fall Away", a brand new song from DEFENDER, the Los Angeles-based hard rock band led by guitarist Bill Hudson (CELLADOR, CIRCLE II CIRCLE, POWER QUEST),can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.
According to Hudson, DEFENDER's long-awaited debut album will surface before mid-2012 and will include a brand new singer following the group's recent split with Bill's former CELLADOR bandmate Mikey Gremio.
"These days, the music business is a joke. Records don't sell (duh!),people don't go to shows (thanks, YouTube),but really what hurts us the most is how flaky musicians (particularly, singers) are," Hudson says. "I've been a victim of this (more times than I can professionally tell you) but I've decided this isn't happening anymore."
Drawing influences from classics like IRON MAIDEN, PANTERA, HELLOWEEN, SKID ROW and METALLICA all the way to the modern hard rock made by SHINEDOWN, AVENGED SEVENFOLD and THREE DAYS GRACE, as well as the aggressiveness of SLAYER, FEAR FACTORY and MESHUGGAH, DEFENDER intends to create catchy songs with great, hooky melodies, intricate and technical guitar work and heavy, and precise riffing. Lyrically, they touch both real and fictional subjects, such as a futuristic third world war or the need to live here and now before it's too late.
